What is World Literature?

In this article, David talks about how authors translate individual masterpieces into different kinds of languages and their different interpretations of them. In literature, every country has to express emotion through writing books and poetry to show their culture and values. World literature becomes a window into the world because when they translate it, they give different ideas that make some people have wrong thoughts or points of view.  In this matter, we learned from their different cultures, influencing us on our own. By gaining knowledge from world literature transferred in books, poems, stories, etc. we understand and learn more about the past/different cultures that surround us. However, people criticize other cultures and their values only because they are not the same as to them. Unfortunately, when information is being passed through these stories, books, and poems, people want to understand it in their own language rather than learning an entirely new language that takes time to understand. And because of this, readings and scriptures are translated and sometimes are given an ultimately new meaning of what there was. It may give the same meaning but worded very differently, which changes perspectives in many different ways.
